The construction industry has long grappled with issues of order and discipline, fair competition, and the fight against workplace crime. With the ID06 Logging Index, there is now a concrete tool that shows how well companies actually comply with attendance tracking rules in the workplace—based on actual log data, not estimates.
“The ID06 Attendance Index shows how consistently a company tracks employee attendance at construction sites using ID06 cards. It’s simply based on how employees clock in and out each day,” explains Andreas Qvick, Business Manager at ID06.
A measure of how well the procedures work
ID06 The logging index is, simply put, a measure of how accurately companies’ entries in the personnel log are recorded. An index below 100 indicates that one or more entries are incorrect.
– The ID06 Logging Index provides an overview of how well an organization manages employee clock-in and clock-out procedures. The index allows you to see how well your employees clock in and out during different periods and makes it easier to identify areas for improvement, explains Qvick.
The background is clear. When ID06 began analyzing log data a few years ago, they identified shortcomings.
“When we started measuring, we found that the management of personnel logs at construction sites left something to be desired. To make information on this topic easily accessible, we created the ID06 Logging Index, in the hope of contributing to positive change across the industry as a whole,” he explains.
Based on pseudonymized data
“Technically, the index is generated by processing pseudonymized data from ID06 Stamp established calculation methods that are publicly available through the service,” explains Qvick.
So it’s not about following individual people.
“Only pseudonymized data from ID06 Stamp —that is, information from personnel records where it is not possible to identify individual persons,” he emphasizes.
The calculations are performed daily, year-round, with a one-day delay in reporting to ensure the accuracy of the information.
An indicator—not a verdict
Can the index reveal rule violations? According to Andreas Qvick, it serves more as a guide than as a definitive judgment.
– The ID06 logging index can serve as an indicator—a low index suggests that action needs to be taken, he says.
He makes it clear that the requirements for accurate reporting come from the legislature and that the Swedish Tax Agency monitors this on an ongoing basis. The index is a tool that provides an overview and transparency.
“Since the ID06 Logging Index helps increase transparency, we are convinced that it is one piece of the puzzle in the fight against workplace crime and in promoting healthy competition,” says Qvick.
Clear improvement in the industry
Since its inception, the national index has risen from 84.1 in November 2021 to 90.0 in January 2026.
According to Qvick, this means that the industry as a whole is moving in the right direction.
“Since the ID06 Logging Index is based on actual entries in employee logs, we can conclude that the industry as a whole is moving in the right direction on this particular issue,” he says.
He attributes the upturn to a shift in attitude.
“In general, I’d say that more and more people involved are taking this more seriously. This could mean ensuring that all employees have valid and active ID06 cards, reminding workers on-site of the importance of clocking in and out according to current regulations, and actually measuring and comparing their performance metrics,” says Qvick.
A data-driven step forward
According to Qvick, the ID06 Logging Index is part of a broader shift toward more data-driven approaches in the industry.
“That’s definitely the case, without a doubt! The ID06 Logging Index is excellent proof that the information managed by the ID06 system provides tangible benefits for both clients and contractors,” he says.
At the same time, he emphasizes that the tool is not a one-size-fits-all solution.
“ID06 Logging Index is a tool that requires practical application, not a solution in and of itself,” he points out.
And the work can't stop.
“Unfortunately, the fight against workplace crime cannot be put on hold. All the positive forces in the industry must work tirelessly and consistently,” Qvick concludes.
