High security and reliable technology in the ID06 card
The ID06 card is a secure, high-trust card linked to the checks conducted during the issuance process. The individual’s identity is verified, as well as their right to work in Sweden and the company for which they are employed.
The ID06 card is based on a secure technology (PIV-C), in which information associated with the ID06 card and information about the individual and the company is protected by two certificates that can be read depending on how the ID06 card is used in connection with access.
Access to offices or vehicles
If you want to achieve more secure access to offices or to link ID06 cards to, for example, a vehicle logbook, we recommend using PIV-C technology, which is compatible with Microsoft, iOS, Linux, and Android. There are also PIV-C-compatible readers for office use available on the market. ID06 also offers ready-made software for developing various applications on the market.

Confidence levels and LoA – what do they mean?
By "trust level," we mean the level of security and reliability. A higher trust level is more secure than a lower one, both technically and administratively.
Levels of assurance are abbreviated internationally as LoA (Level of Assurance). The EU eIDAS Regulation defines three different levels of assurance: low, substantial, andhigh.
ID06 cards have"low" and"substantial" security levels, whichcorrespond to LoA 1 and LoA 2. Depending on the workplace's security and operational requirements, different security levels may be used.
Below is an explanation of how individuals and companies are identified using the ID06 card for the various levels of trust.
Low confidence level – LoA 1
Verifying the card's certificate
When authenticating at LoA 1, the system verifies that the card certificate on the card is genuine. The cardholder presents the card to the reader and is granted access.
Examples of information that is verified:
Issuer: VaultIt CA
Subject 22-1987-586845
Significant level of assurance –
LoA 2
Verification of the cardholder
When authenticating at LoA 2, the cardholder’s identity and employer affiliation are verified, and it is confirmed that the ID06 card is genuine. The cardholder presents the card to the reader, enters their personal code, and is granted access.
Examples of information that is verified:
Employee name
Company name
Company registration number

Using ID06 cards in local systems
ID06 cards can be used in local systems, such as in the office, to gain access, start copiers, or for other purposes. When used in local systems, there is no electronic verification against the ID06 system.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why can't we add organizations or certificates to the ID06 card anymore?
Until August 12, 2024, it has been possible to add additional information to the ID06 card in a blank field at the bottom of the card. This field has been used to print organizational logos, certificate logos, or similar items.
However, since it is not possible to reliably and effectively verify whether a company still belongs to an organization or holds a certificate during the card’s validity period, ID06 has decided to remove this field. This decision was also made to avoid the risk of incorrect information being printed on the card, which could lead to fraud and negatively impact trust in the ID06 system and brand.
I want to show that my company’s employees work for a company that holds a specific certificate or equivalent. How do I do that?
Please ensure that your ID06-accredited training partner enters this information into ID06 Kompetensdatabas employees who have an ID06 card.
I want my employees' diplomas and certifications to be displayed at the workplace. How do I do that?
Make sure that the training provider you use is an ID06-accredited training partner, and then require that the training certificate/qualification be uploaded to ID06 Kompetensdatabas. When an ID06 card is scanned at the workplace, the training/certification is displayed, and this can also be linked to the access control system at the workplace to ensure that no one without the proper qualifications enters the workplace, in accordance with the rules established by the workplace.
I would like to show that my company is a member of a specific membership organization and have this information printed on the ID06 card.
Since ID06 is currently unable to verify this information consistently, securely, and efficiently over time and throughout the card’s validity period, nor does it have the ability to restrict the validity of ID06 cards based on changing membership conditions, this information cannot be printed on ID06 cards.
